Local congresswoman fights for NPR

Palo Alto Congresswoman Anna Eshoo led the opposition in the House on Thursday against a Republican move to strip National Public Radio of federal funding. Eshoo is the top Democrat on the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology which oversees broadcasting. “We have many emergencies to deal with in our country, but attacking and crippling NPR is hardly an emergency,” Rep. Eshoo said, according to TheState.com While the measure passed in the House, it is unlikely to win approval in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

Defund N.P.R. - there are plenty of liberals and liberal leaning organizations that can & should fund this liberal sounding board.

NPR is necessary to make sure voices ignored by the commercial media are heard. Thank you Congresswoman Eshoo for leading this fight!!

Why should liberal programs get government funding and not conservative? If NPR is getting tax dollars, an equal amount should be given to Rush Limbaugh and Fox News.

The video sting said it all. NPR doesn't need government money. Period.

NPR is commercial media. George Soros gives a pile of money and off they go making programs for him. Same thing with the Bill Gates money.
