Former Merc editor to head Audubon Society

David Yarnold, who worked at the Merc for 27 years rising to executive editor, has been named president and CEO of the National Audubon Society. Yarnold leaves his job as executive director of the Environmental Defense Fund, where he went in 2005 after leaving the Merc. Both environmental organizations are based in New York City.
