Mitchell Report got names denied to Chron

Hearst Corp. filed a brief today asking why the federal government gave the names of players caught using steroids to former Sen. George Mitchell but wouldn't release them to the Chronicle, the NY Daily News reports. Hearst claims the government, in giving the names to Mitchell who was picked to investigate the use of performance enhancing drugs, flip-flopped its argument that it needed to keep the names sealed to protect an ongoing investigation.
