Former Mercury News executive editor and Knight Ridder news vp Jerry Ceppos was named as a finalist for the job of journalism dean at the University of Nevada, Reno, the Reno Gazette-Journal reported today. The university has another finalist from Ohio and a third finalist might be named today. Ceppos, a Saratoga resident, is an adjunct professor at San Jose State University and a consultant for Leading Edge Associates.
